COVID-19: Top Apps & Websites to Keep You Safe & Updated
The deadly Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has now reached nearly every corner of the world, leaving many countries under lockdown. In India also, both central and state governments are doing everything from imposing a nationwide lockdown to leveraging the power of technology to fight against the lethal pandemic.
Not only the government, several renowned organizations, and tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple have also come up with solutions to make the fight against COVID-19 even stronger. As India’s leading maternity wear brand, we have decided to compile a list of some most credible websites and apps to spread awareness and fight the virus.
Here we go!
1: Aarogya Setu
Aarogya Setu the Indian government's official app to raise awareness and help citizens fight against COVID-19. The app first requires you to enter your mobile number, and then it warns you if you have been nearby a COVID-19 infected person. Currently supporting 11 languages, the app is available for both Android and iOS.
Additionally, you can visit official MyGov and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare websites to get the latest updates about the Coronavirus outbreak.
2: COVID-19 Sheets Tracker
The official website provides the latest data, but it doesn’t offer any historical data about how the number of Coronavirus cases increased in India over time. That’s why the Father of Indian Blogging, Amit Agrawal, created the COVID-19 Sheets Tracker using Google Sheets.
The tracker fetches data from the Ministry of Health website every few minutes and visualizes how the number of Coronavirus positive cases are increasing in India over time.
3: COVID-19 India
The COVID-19 tracker is a volunteer-driven crowdsourced initiative to track the spread of Coronavirus in India only. You can view the number of confirmed and active Coronavirus cases as well as get updates on recovery and death cases state-wise. The data is updated every few minutes!
4: TrackCorona.live
Developed by two University of Virginia students, TrackCorona is another COVID-19 tracking website providing up-to-date information about the spread of the virus, including fatality rate and recovery rate. The site fetches data from the WHO, CDC, and other similar authentic resources and makes it visual with a near-real-time map to show the growth of the pandemic across the globe.
5: Microsoft COVID-19 Tracker
Built by Microsoft's Bing team, this portal tracks the progress of COVID-19 worldwide. You can get up-to-date statistics about both local and global cases through an interactive map. You can also see active, recovered, and fatal cases for a particular country.
6: Apple COVID-19 Screening Tool
Developed in partnership with CDC, the White House, and FEMA, this tool allows you to do self-screening for Coronavirus. You just need to answer a set of questions, and the self-assessment tool gives you a directive about what to do next at the end of the survey.
7: COVID 19 Information & Resources by Google
The search engine giant has put together everything from COVID‑19 symptoms to prevention to treatments in one place. Offering an interactive COVID-19 map, Google shows you the confirmed, recovered, and deceased Coronavirus cases by country or worldwide.
8: Worldometers Coronavirus Tracker
Since the day COVID-19 came into limelight, Worldometers has been a credible source for everyone to get the latest updates about the virus. On this website, you can view the total number of Coronavirus cases along with deaths and recoveries worldwide or by country.
