Pregnancy and Motherhood
“To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and distressingly inhabited. Soul and spirit are stretched – along with body – making pregnancy a time of transition, growth, and profound beginnings.” – Anne Christian Buchanan
Pregnancy is the period during which the female body develops a fetus inside her womb. It usually lasts about 40 weeks, divided into three trimesters and each roughly three months long.
First Trimester - week 1 to week 12
Second Trimester - week 13 to week 28
Third Trimester - week 29 to week 40
Getting pregnant is one of the most beautiful feelings of a woman's life. While some women find pregnancy very difficult due to pain, illness, fatigue, and more, others sail through it with a smile on their face.
Every woman is different, and so is her motherhood journey and experience.

Pregnancy Symptoms and Test
Early Pregnancy Symptoms
For women with a regular menstrual cycle, a missed period is the most initial and reliable sign of pregnancy. Since many early pregnancy symptoms are similar to those you have right before or during your period, it can sometimes be tricky to know if you are pregnant.
Check out the list of early pregnancy symptoms and signs.
If you suspect you're pregnant, test your urine using a pregnancy test kit. The best time to take the test is a week after your missed period date, preferably with your first morning urine.
Alternatively, you can also try these ten best DIY homemade pregnancy tests that are reliable and natural. The best part is you can perform these tests in the comfort of your home with natural ingredients readily available in the house. During Covid-19, they indeed prove to be a lifesaver when you are stuck at home and don't want to go outside.
Pregnancy tests are generally 99% accurate, as long as you follow the given instructions correctly. If your pregnancy test is negative, but you think you may be pregnant, wait a couple of days and then retest.
