Precautions for the First Trimester of Pregnancy (Video)
The first trimester is the most crucial to your baby's development. All of the major body organs and systems form in these three months. That's why you need to take extra precautions.
The DO's
- Take prenatal vitamins. Increase the intake of folic acid supplements
- Eat more organic & healthy food like dark green spinach, orange carrots, red apples, yellow bananas, blueberries
- Take a rest. Try to get 7-9 hours of sleep every day
- Stay hydrated (8 to 12 cups of water every day)
- Practice yoga & moderate-intensity exercises (30 minutes every day and four times a week)
- Set up a prenatal appointment and visit your dentist
- Only take pregnancy-safe medications after discussing with your doctor. Also, if you're not feeling good or experiencing any pain, consult your doctor
- If your clothes are getting tight, then invest in maternity clothes for extra support and comfort
The DON'Ts
- No smoking
- No alcohol
- No raw or undercooked meat, eggs
- Limit Caffeine
- Don't clean the litter box
- Don't eat unpasteurized milk products
