4 Tips to Relieve Back Pain During Pregnancy (Video)
Back pain or backache is one of the most common pregnancy problems, especially between the fifth and seventh months. As per one study, 50% - 80% of pregnant women experience back pain.

- Walk or stand and stretch at least every 45 minutes. Regular exercise, try to get 30 min exercise at least three days a week.
- Sleep on your left side, and use a support or pregnancy pillow. Also, wear supportive clothing like maternity pants or a support belt.
- Take a warm bath (not a hot bath). Get a prenatal massage.
- Apply cold and warm compresses. Be careful not to apply heat to your belly.
If back pain is severe or lasts more than two weeks, contact your doctor. It might be a sign of preterm labor or a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Back pain is a common symptom during pregnancy, affecting up to 80% of pregnant women at some point. The good news is that there are many things you can do to relieve back pain during pregnancy.
First, try to maintain good posture and alignment. When standing, keep your shoulders back and your pelvis level. When sitting, use a chair with good back support. If you must sit for long periods, take breaks to walk around and stretch every 20-30 minutes.
Secondly, aim to stay active and get regular exercise. Walking, swimming, and prenatal yoga are great ways to stay active during pregnancy.
Finally, sleep on your side with a pillow between your knees to support your back.
